Taiwan Fastener Trading Association (TFTA) held the grand “New Year’s Gala Meeting” on Feb. 21st, heralding the new start of the fastener industry in the breezy spring of 2014. 175 members throughout Taiwan gathered to celebrate at Taichung-based Windsor Hotel under the calling of TFTA and its Central Part Chapter. In the beginning of spring when there still came cold wind sometimes, close friendship was soon fermented among the members on-site. Their zealous participation made the gala the largest event for the fastener industry in central Taiwan.

The event started with four industry sessions focused on school-to-work programs and related cooperation among the industry and academia, followed by reports on the current association operation and plans by Chairman Bill Chen, Chief Secretary Ricky Hsang, Chi Hung Cheng, Head of Training Committee, Po-Chun Yu, Head of Service Committee, and Bao Wen Lin, Head of International Committee (see Pic. 2). Last year the number of members rose by 60, and this year the number amounts to 297. The number of directors and supervisors were also increased to enhance member service. Starting form 2014, TFTA chairman, directors (17 people), supervisors (8 people), and the dedicated advisors (8 people) will do whatever they can for Taiwan fastener industry and help TFTA reach global markets (See Fastener World, issue no. 143, for the complete list of board of TFTA).
